Khamenei Calls For Jihad Against the US
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, all but said on Sunday that negotiations over the country’s illicit nuclear program are over and that the Islamic Republic’s ideals include destroying America.

“Those [Iranians] who want to promote negotiation and surrender to the oppressors and blame the Islamic Republic as a warmonger in reality commit treason,” Khamenei told a meeting of members of parliament, according to the regime’s Fars News Agency.

Khamenei emphasized that without a combative mindset, the regime cannot reach its higher Islamic role against the “oppressors’ front.”

“The reason for continuation of this battle is not the warmongering of the Islamic Republic. Logic and reason command that for Iran, in order to pass through a region full of pirates, needs to arm itself and must have the capability to defend itself,” he said.

“Today’s world is full of thieves and plunderers of human honor, dignity and morality who are equipped with knowledge, wealth and power, and under the pretense of humanity easily commit crimes and betray human ideals and start wars in different parts of the world.”

In response to a question by a parliamentarian on how long this battle will continue, Khamenei said,“Battle and jihad are endless because evil and its front continue to exist. … This battle will only end when the society can get rid of the oppressors’ front with America at the head of it, which has expanded its claws on human mind, body and thought. … This requires a difficult and lengthy struggle and need for great strides.”

Khamenei cited the scientific advancement of the country. “The accelerated scientific advancement of the last 12 years cannot stop under any circumstances,” he said, referring to the strides the regime has made toward becoming a nuclear power.

As reported on May 19 on The Daily Caller, Iran has put up new roadblocks to reaching a deal with the P5+1 world powers over its illicit nuclear program. The powers are the permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, plus Germany.

Three days of negotiations in the fourth round of Geneva meetings ended recently without concrete results when the Iranian team presented the country’s new “red lines” — diminishing any hope by the Obama administration to claim victory in its approach to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, according to reports from Iran.

The Obama administration had hoped that with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Javad Zarif showing an eagerness to solve the nuclear issue and address the West’s concerns, there would be a possibility for a negotiated solution. An interim agreement penned last November in Geneva was touted as an “historic nuclear deal.”

Under that agreement, Iran, in return for billions of dollars in sanctions relief, limited its enrichment activity to the 5 percent level with a current stockpile of over 10 tons (enough for six nuclear bombs), converted much of its 20 percent enriched stock to harmless oxide, and agreed to allow more intrusive inspections of its nuclear plants by the International Atomic Energy Agency, whose inspections were limited to only agreed-upon facilities.

The Iranian delegation last week presented new red lines that could not be crossed, including the expansion of the country’s research and development for its nuclear program, the need of the country to continue enrichment, and the fact that the country’s ballistic missile program — despite U.N. sanctions — is not up for negotiation.

At the same time, IAEA officials met again with their Iranian counterparts last week in Tehran to discuss information on the work on detonators and needed collaboration by the regime to clear outstanding issues on its nuclear program as part of seven transparency steps Iran had agreed to fulfill by May 15, which has yet to take place.

The Iranian army deputy chief-of-staff has claimed that Iran has made a new missile system which is more advanced compared to the Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.

“Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ordered Iranian experts to produce home-made version of S-300 after Russian side cancelled the contract to supply Iran with the system,” Gen. Mohammad Hejazi said, Iranian Mehr news agency reported on April 29.

“Our experts have made big achievements on the issue,” Hejazi said, adding that the details of the project will be made public when its time comes.

Russia signed a contract with Iran in 2007 to deliver five S-300 advanced ground-to-air missiles at a cost of $800 million.

In 2010, Russia’s then president Dmitry Medvedev cancelled the contract because of UN Security Council sanctions over concerns about Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.

One of the most advanced multi-target anti-aircraft missile systems in the world, the S-300 has a reported ability to track up to 100 targets simultaneously while engaging up to 12 at the same time.
In mid-February the commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General
Farzad Esmaili announced that the country will launch Bavar 373, the Iranian version of S-300 in the next two years.

The technical problems hampering construction of Bavar 373 have been resolved, and development and construction of the sophisticated anti-missile defense system would be completed by the end of Iran’s Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (2010-2015), Esmaili said.

The commander claimed that “the domestic system will be more powerful than the S-300 missile system.” (Cihan/Trend az)

United States Suddenly Worried About Iranian Missiles

Iran’s Long Range Capable Missiles

A senior US official expresses optimism about a possible resolving of the dispute over Iran’s nuclear energy program but says Washington is still concerned about the threat posed by Tehran’s missiles to the Persian Gulf states, PressTV reported.

Speaking to reporters in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, US deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Space and Defense Policy, Frank Rose, added that Washington was “acutely” aware of anxieties of Arab countries in the Persian Gulf about what he called threats from Iran’s missile program.

“We are optimistic that we’ll have a successful resolution of the Iran nuclear issue … but that doesn’t downgrade our concern about Iran’s other bad behaviors, specifically their support for terrorism as well as their continued development of ballistic missile capabilities,” Rose said on the sidelines of a conference on missiles and defense.”

Rose’s comments came as Iran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially regional neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has issued a religious decree prohibiting nuclear weapons.

In the fatwa (religious decree), Ayatollah Khamenei said the Islamic Republic considers the pursuit and possession of nuclear weapons “a grave sin” from every logical, religious and theoretical standpoint.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, France, Britain, Russia, and China – plus Germany sealed an interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013, to pave the way for the full resolution of the decade-old dispute over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program. The deal came into force on January 20.

The two sides are scheduled to resume expert-level talks in New York on May 5-9.

Iranian naval fleets were on their way across the Atlantic Ocean and headed toward the US, the Fars news agency reported on Saturday.
“Iran’s military fleet is approaching the United States’ maritime borders, and this move has a message,” Adm. Afshin Rezayee Haddad of Iran’s Northern Navy Fleet was quoted as saying.
According to Fars, Iran had first warned the US of its plans to deploy its naval forces along US marine borders “in the next few years” in September 2012.
Then, Iran’s Navy Commander R.-Adm. Habibollah Sayyari said the move would counter US presence in its waters in the Persian Gulf.
Fars first reported on an Iranian Navy fleet of warships making its way across the Atlantic Ocean in January 2014. At the time, they reported that the ships would sail for at least three months.
Hours earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday the United States would overthrow the Iranian government if it could, adding Washington had a “controlling and meddlesome” attitude towards the Islamic Republic, Iranian media reported.
In a speech to mark the 35th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Khamenei, the most powerful figure in Iran, added that officials seeking to revive the economy should not rely on an eventual lifting of sanctions but rather on homegrown innovation.
“American officials publicly say they do not seek regime change in Iran. That’s a lie. They wouldn’t hesitate a moment if they could do it,” he was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars news agency.
Khamenei made no mention of talks between Iran and world powers intended to settle a decade-old dispute about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
But he reiterated that in dealing with “enemies,” Iran should be prepared to change tactics but not compromise on its main principles.
“The solution to our economic problems is not looking out and having the sanctions lifted,” he added. “My advice to our officials, as ever, is to rely on infinite indigenous potentials.”
He added: “Our [hostile] stance toward the United States is due to its controlling and meddlesome attitude.”
Khamenei’s comments about hostility reflect his long-standing animosity towards the United States, seen as the arch-enemy by Iranian authorities. The US and Iran have had no official ties since 1980 after Iranian students occupied the US embassy in Tehran, taking 52 diplomats hostage in protest against Washington’s admission of the former Shah after he was toppled by the Islamic Revolution.
But Khamenei has given his guarded support to the nuclear negotiations being led by the new reformist government of President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Khamenei: Nuclear Talks Expose “Enmity” of U.S. “Satan”

by TheTower.org Staff | 01.10.14 10:39 am

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei lashed out against the United States on Thursday.

“We had announced previously that on certain issues, if we feel it is expedient, we would negotiate with the Satan (the United States) to deter its evil,” Khamenei told a gathering, reported by the official IRNA news agency. “The nuclear talks showed the enmity of America against Iran, Iranians, Islam and Muslims.”

The statements came amid growing concerns – including from largely sympathetic outlets corners – that Iranian president Hassan Rouhani lacks the will or ability to substantially change Iranian domestic and foreign policy. By law and assisted by raw political power, the Supreme Leader controls among other things Iran’s foreign policy. For his part Rouhani used to be openly acknowledged as close to Khamenei – a Reuters article from 2008 is to the point, and the characterization seems straightforwardly accurate – but since his election he has been framed by Western media outlets as a moderate opponent of the regime. It is not yet clear to what extent the White House will condemn Khamenei’s remarks. The administration was markedly slow in condemning past inflamatory statements by Khamenei.

Iran Continues to Call Us the Great Satan

“We had announced previously that on certain issues, if we deem it proper, we would negotiate with this Satan to deter its evil.”

Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran’s Supremer Leader, launched a scathing attack on the United States at a meeting with thousands of people for the commemoration of the deadly uprising of Jan. 9, 1978, news agency IRNA reports.

On his Twitter account, where his speech was transcribed, Khamenei wrote, “The enemies think that they imposed sanctions, and Iran had to negotiate. No! This is not true! We had announced previously that on certain issues, if we deem it proper, we would negotiate with this Satan to deter its evil.”

The leader of the Iranian revolution also criticized the U.S. record on human rights, saying it “has no right to talk about human rights! U.S. government is the biggest violator of human rights in the world.” He cited drone attacks and American support of Zionists for the “disorder” in Palestine and Gaza.

Khamanei: Says "Death To America and Israel"

Khamenei anti-Israel speech shows danger of Iran

www.andrewtheprophet.com/11064.html

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday warned world powers negotiating with Iran that an anti-Israel speech by Iran’s supreme leader gave fresh proof over why Tehran must not acquire a nuclear weapon.
Speaking to leaders of Russia’s Jewish community on the second day of a visit to Moscow to campaign against an emerging world power deal with Iran, Netanyahu accused Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of using the lexicon of the Nazi Holocaust.
“Yesterday, Iran’s supreme leader, Khamenei, said ‘death to America, death to Israel’, he said that Jews are not human beings.”
“Sounds familiar?” Netanyahu asked.
Khamenei told militia commanders in Tehran on Wednesday that Israel, Iran’s arch-foe, was “doomed to collapse”, “the rabid dog” of the Middle East, and with leaders “not worthy” of being called “human”.
“Such an Iran must not get a nuclear weapon,” Netanyahu said.
After talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, Netanyahu on Wednesday insisted on the need for a “real” solution to the Iranian nuclear crisis.
Netanyahu’s speech in Moscow came as Iran and world powers were set Thursday to begin hammering out a landmark deal freezing parts of Tehran’s atomic programme to ease fears of the Islamic republic obtaining nuclear weapons.

Khamanei: Iran Has Nuclear "Rights"

Iran’s supreme leader says will not step back from its nuclear rights

(Reuters) – Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday Tehran would not take one step back “one iota” from its nuclear rights, on the day Iran begins a new round of talks with world powers on its disputed nuclear program.
He said he would not intervene directly in the talks in Geneva, though he had set “red lines” for his negotiators.
He also said French officials were “not only succumbing to the United States, but they are kneeling before the Israeli regime” and said Iran would “slap aggressors in the face in such a way they will never forget it” without mentioning any specific country.

Iran Promises Payback For Syria

With the evidence of the chemical warfare attacks by Syria mounting, and the United States, France and Britain all claiming to hold evidence proving a chemical attack, a Syria strike is being planned. John Kerry said that there are at least 10 countries who are willing to join forces with the U.S. in a strike. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have both made threats.
The harshest threat comes from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who said that if the United States attacks Syria the country will pay a steep price. He also said that the U.S. had no right to play the part of humanitarians after everything they did to Iraq.
Khamenei went on to say that the turmoil in the Middle East is a direct response to the arrogance of Washington. He said that if the U.S. attacks Syria, they won’t stop the “resistance” against the arrogance of America. He finally threw out the label of “terrorist” and said that if the United States attacks Syria, it will be seen as an act of terrorism.
One of the big news items taking place yesterday saw Russia move some of their warships and it looks like they are preparing for a U.S. attack on Syria, who is still an ally of Russia. Vladimir Putin still says he does not believe the allegations of chemical warfare on the part of Syria. As an ally of Syria, that might just be lip service.
Vladimir Putin then made his veiled threat against the United States. Putin says that, if the U.S. attacks Syria, Russia has “plans” on how they will react to the Syria strike. This came as President Barack Obama found Congressional approval to set out for the strike, which has larger plans to topple the power of Bashar al-Assad.
Things have been scary for the last month. With Syria launching what many people now see as a chemical attack on over a thousand people, something needs to be done. However, with two different countries making threats against the United States if they attack, this could get much bigger than any military action in years.
When President George W. Bush ordered an attack on Iraq based on lies of weapons of mass destruction, he had a lot of allies behind him. He was going in to allegedly stop greater evils from happening. No one made threats and the U.S. was able to strike hard.
This is completely different. Something has to be done to show countries like Syria, Iran and North Korea that using illegal chemical warfare won’t be accepted. However, by doing so we might end up fighting three different countries in Syria, Iran and Russia, and this would be the closest thing to starting a new World War in a very long time.
Politicians and military advisors need to tread lightly because this could get way out of hand if they are not careful. The Vladimir Putin and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei should not be taken lightly.

Congress Warns Rowhani Not Moderate

Congress warns Obama nothing ‘moderate’ about Iran’s new president

Special to WorldTribune.com
WASHINGTON — Congress has warned that Iran’s new president would not
resolve his country’s nuclear standoff with the West.
House members have urged President Barack Obama against embracing Iran’s
new president, Hassan Rowhani, the Shi’ite cleric elected last month. In a
letter to Obama, 43 Democrats and Republicans said the presidential election
appeared to have been rigged.

Iran President Hassan Rowhani.

“There appears nothing ‘moderate’ about his nuclear policies, which are a continuation of the policies that have been roundly opposed by the international community,” the letter read. “Moreover, decisions about Iran’s nuclear program and foreign policy rest mainly in the hands of Iran’s supreme leader [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei. Khamenei has recently reiterated his view that Iran has no reason to normalize relations with the United States.”
The letter signed by the Republican chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Rep. Ed Royce as well as all the members of the panel. Royce and the committee members said Rowhani has supported Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
“Iran’s election unfortunately has done nothing to suggest a reversal of
Iran’s pursuit of a nuclear weapons capacity,” the letter said.
“President-elect Rowhani, who served as a nuclear negotiator for Iran at a
time its illicit program was well underway, indicated his support for Iran’s
nuclear ambitions in his first post-election press conference.”
The letter marked a contrast to the hopeful messages by the Obama
administration that Rowhani could reconcile with the West. The House members
said Iran was “dramatically expanding its nuclear infrastructure: installing
advanced centrifuges which would quadruple the speed with which Iran can
enrich uranium, while continuing construction of a heavy water reactor which
will permit a plutonium option.”
The letter urged Obama to intensify sanctions and other pressure on
Iran. The House members said Congress would introduce legislation that would
bolster sanctions.
“It is important that you leave no doubt in the minds of the Iranian
government that the United States will do all it can to prevent Iran from
acquiring a nuclear weapons capability,” the letter said.
